We've been offering guided tours for cyclists of all abilities for well over 15 years. We can take you riding, tell you where to ride, offer advice on riding conditions and scenery and rent you a trail worthy bike. Elk River Touring Center is truly your one stop shop for West Virginia Mountain Biking.

If you can't join us for a guided tour, single or half day guide service is available by reservation. If you're a novice, you will learn the basics of mountain biking and enjoy your West Virginia Mountain Biking experience all the more. If you're experienced, our guides will take you to the best local spots and delight you with their knowledge of the area's history and local lore.

Our guides are certified in first aid and very knowledgeable about the terrain. Elk River guides are also accomplished bicycle mechanics and are equipped with plenty of spare parts.

Custom Bike Trips

Since 1985, Elk River has guided groups on bikes through our own piece of Shangri-La. Whether planning a business meeting, family reunion, private instruction, or Alaska style hell-bike trip, we can tailor fit a single day or weeklong trip for your group. Our guides can camp with you or take you to mountain lodges, shuttle your gear or go self supported. Horse packing, hiking, Fly Fishing WV, whitewater rafting, rock climbing, and road cycling are other activities within reach of Elk River and we are happy to discuss the dreams you have for your trip. Instruction is Elk River's specialty and our guides have many years of experience teaching and working with adults and children. Skill clinics range from 3 hours to as long as you need. Our goal is to sharpen your techniques and we'll do whatever it takes. Elk River would like to be a part of any custom bike trip that you may be considering.
