Tours
Welcome to the wild and wonderful world of mountain biking
in West Virginia. Since 1985 we have been perfecting our mountain
biking program, making us the oldest mountain bike center in the East.
Our tours are
carefully planned so that we use the beautiful scenery which surrounds us in conjunction
with the seasons. We invite you to come and experience hard-core singletrack
with gentle, rolling high country.
All the terrain you could want, supported by a concerned staff and warm hospitality.
Pocahontas County, named as one of Outside Magazine's best counties for the
outdoors, is the birthplace of eight rivers and home to 302,000 acres of national
forest. Elk River offers immediate access to miles of excellent terrain.
Trails begin at the center, traverse the Gauley Divide and Sharp's Knob,
and the Highland Scenic Highway which has access to many more trails in the Cranberry Glades
and Williams River area. The Greenbrier River Trail, a 75 mile
rail/trail runs from Cass, through Marlinton and south to Caldwell passing through
classic West Virginia beauty with Bed & Breakfasts and camping along the way.
All of our trips include all meals, lodging, maps and guiding.
We stay overnight at B&B's, cabins, and lodges.
Most tours have vehicle support throughout a large portion of each day enabling
participants to take a break if desired. Our guides are certified
in first aid and very knowledgeable about the terrain.

For those whose schedule does not fit ours, come out and ride some of the great
trails in the area on your own. We have worked with local, state and
federal agencies to develop a safe and practical trail system, which is one of the
largest in the country. The preservation of these trails is very important
to us, and we follow the guidelines of the International Mountain Bike Association
(IMBA). Guides are available for hire by day as are shuttles to and from trail
heads with reservation. Cost varies with the number of people and destination.
Mountain bikes are available for rental at 35.00/day. Rentals include helmets. We have a mechanic on duty most times and our speciality
shop has parts and accessories you may need.
Registration/Cancellation Policy To reserve a space on a tour, a deposit fee of 200.00 is required at the time of reservation, with the balance due on arrival.
Once your reservation is confirmed we will send a confirmation packet with trip notes, directions, a menu and an equipment list. If you need to cancel, your deposit will be refunded less a 25.00 fee outside of 30 days. If you cancel
inside of 30 days, your deposit is nonrefundable unless we can resell your spot on the tour. If you have a flexible schedule, give us a call to join one of our unfilled trips at the last minute.
